Today, the Minister of Ports, Shipping, and Aviation of Sri Lanka, Nimal Siripala de Silva, had a discussion with the Ambassador of Japan to Sri Lanka, Mizukoshi Hedeaki, at the Ministry premises.
During this meeting, the Minister expressed his gratitude for the assistance Japan has provided towards the success of Sri Lanka’s debt restructuring programme.
The Ambassador and Japan International Cooperation Agency’s (JAICA) Director for Sri Lanka, Akimitsu Okubo, assured that the construction of terminal 02 of the Katunayake Airport would begin soon after the debt restructuring process was finished.
Nimal Siripala de Silva also conveyed that the government would not be looking for any other parties’ help in completing the project as a successful Japanese endeavour.
The discussion was attended by a delegation from the Embassy of Japan, members of JAICA, Secretary to the Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Aviation K.D.S.Ruwanchandra, and the Additional Secretary (Development) of the Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Aviation Nayana Somarathna.
