The State Minister of Finance, Ranjith Siyambalapitiya, declared that the salaries of public sector employees for the month of January will be paid today (Jan. 25).
All executive and non-executive grade employees will receive their respective wages.
The payment was delayed due to the current economic situation, but the Minister reported that Rs. 87 billion of the Rs. 93 billion spent monthly on salaries had already been settled as of January 23.
Thus, the remaining employees will have their salaries sorted out during the day.
