On Saturday, 4,596 new COVID-19 cases were reported, according to the Health Ministry’s Epidemiology Unit.
4,582 cases from the New Year cluster had been verified today, including 14 international arrivals in quarantine.
At 10 p.m. Saturday, the Epidemiology Unit reported 421,557 COVID-19 instances, with 57,580 infected people receiving medical care in hospitals and homes, while 355,394 patients totally healed and were discharged from hospitals.
Sri Lanka recorded 212 deaths in the last 24 hours, bringing the total death toll to 8,583.
According to the Epidemiology Unit report, so far total of 12,290,482 people have received a first dose of COVID-19 vaccine and 6,873,138 have received the second dose.
