A three-member advisory board has been created to investigate and make recommendations on whether individuals who are arrested and detained for their involvement in terrorist activities should be released or granted bail.
President Gotabaya Rajapaksa appointed the relevant advisory board.
Attorney-at-Law The appointments were made in compliance with Section 13 of the Prevention of Terrorism Act (PTA) No. 48 of 1979, according to Harigupta Rohanadeera, the Presidential Secretariat’s Director-General of Legal Affairs.
This group, which will be chaired by former Chief Justice Asoka de Silva, will include retired High Court Judge A.A.R. Heiyanthuduwa and former Solicitor General Suhada Gamlath.
