Sri Lanka’s COVID-19 Update: According to the Health Ministry’s Epidemiology Unit, another 689 people in Sri Lanka have tested positive for COVID-19, bringing the daily total to 1,917.
- The total number of confirmed coronavirus cases reported in the country now stands at 248,050.
- Since the pandemic outbreak, there have been 212,825 confirmed recoveries and 2,814 confirmed deaths in Sri Lanka.
- According to data from the Epidemiology Unit, 32,456 active cases are currently being treated.
Also, another 1,639 patients who were being treated for COVID-19 have been discharged after completing their recovery.
Covid-19 Deaths Today
The Director-General of Health Services has confirmed 45 additional COVID-19-related deaths that occurred yesterday (June 23).
The new development brings the official death toll in Sri Lanka due to the virus to 2,814.
The new victims confirmed today include 18 females and 27 males, according to data released by the Department of Government Information.
One victim is under the age of 30, ten are between the ages of 30 and 59, and the remaining 34 are 60 and older.
