According to Police Spokesman DIG Ajith Rohana, the validity period of passes provided for delivery services to operate during the travel restriction period will be extended until June 21.
The permits provided to delivery firms were supposed to expire on June 14, according to a police spokesperson.
Because the country’s travel restrictions were recently extended until June 21, the validity term of these permits was also extended to allow delivery firms to continue transporting necessary supplies in their respective locations without interruption, he added.
During the travel-restricted period, DIG Rohana advised the public against misusing the licenses provided to delivery services.
Authorities have yet to say whether or not the existing travel restrictions would be prolonged or eased on Monday.
