Sri Lanka’s COVID death toll tops 2,000 with 101 new victims
The death toll crossed the grim milestone of 2,000, Sri Lanka recorded 101 more COVID-19 victims on Tuesday (June 10).
Most COVID-19 victims were confirmed within one single day. This is supposed to be the highest number. According to data from the Epidemiology Unit, the latest deaths were transferred from the virus infection to 2,011.
Total Covid-19 cases reported on Thursday
The Health Ministry says 573 others tested positively for coronavirus and today they are growing to 2 715 with the new Covid-19 cases.
The report says that the ‘New Year’ Cluster is associated with all positive cases reported today.
The total number of patients reported in the Covid 19 clusters from Minuwangoda, Peliyagoda, jails and New Year has now been as high as 209,332.
Sri Lankan has reported a total of 216,134 confirmed cases of coronavirus while currently receiving medical attention in 31,986 patients.
The overall recovery for Total Covid-19 is 182,238.
