Over 180,000 recoveries from coronavirus
Another 2,168 individuals who were being treated with COVID-19 have been discharged after completing their recovery, according to the Ministry of Health.
This brings the total number of coronavirus recoveries in the country to 180,427.
Sri Lanka has confirmed a total of 210,661 Covid-19 positive cases, with 28,391 people infected with the virus now receiving medical attention.
At this time, 1,843 people have died as a result of the disease.
Sri Lanka confirms 67 more victims
On Wednesday (June 09), Sri Lanka recorded 54 more COVID-19 victims, the highest number of deaths recorded in a single day.
The latest fatalities bring the country’s death toll to 1,910, according to the Department of Government Information.
According to the Department of Government Information, 19 of the victims died as a result of the virus infection between May 17 and May 31. The rest died between June 1 and June 8, 2008.
2,173 new COVID-19 cases reported so far today
On Wednesday (June 09), the Ministry of Health stated that 2,173 people had tested positive for the new coronavirus.
The New Year COVID-19 cluster is linked to all new cases.
This raises the overall number of verified COVID-19 cases in the country to 212,834.
According to government figures, 30,564 people have been infected with the virus and are being treated at designated hospitals and treatment centers around the island.
Over 5,700 people are still in quarantine
According to the National Operation Centre for the Prevention of COVID-19 Outbreak, 5,732 people are still in quarantine in 56 hotels and three service-managed QCs. – Epidemiology Unit
