Sri Lanka’s COVID-19 Update: According to the Health Ministry’s Epidemiology Unit, 2,682 new Coronavirus cases were reported on Tuesday.
There are 2,637 positive cases from the New Year COVID-19 cluster and 45 foreign arrivals in quarantine among the positive cases detected Tuesday.
According to a report released by the Epidemiology Unit at 8:40 p.m. Tuesday, there have been 210,661 COVID-19 instances recorded, with 30,613 infected individuals being treated in hospitals and 178,259 patients fully healed and discharged.
COVID-19 has claimed the lives of 54 people in Sri Lanka, bringing the total to 1,843.
According to the Epidemiology Unit report, so far a total of 1,979,802 people have received the first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine and 353,789 have received the second dose.
Update on Recoveries
More than 2,214 people, according to the Ministry of Health. COVID-19 individuals have been released from medical care in the previous 24 hours after regaining their health.
This takes the country’s overall number of coronavirus recoveries to 178,259.
Update on Covid-19 death reports today
On Tuesday, June 8, 2021, Sri Lanka acknowledged another 54 deaths as a result of COVID-19.
From the 10th of May to the 7th of June, 54 people died as a result of infection with the Covid-19 virus, according to the Director-General of Health Services. On June 8, no deaths have been reported.
In Sri Lanka, 1,843 people have died as a result of the Covid-19 infection.
