Sri Lanka’s COVID-19 Update: On Sunday (June 06), the number of cases reached 2,976 as 1,055 more people tested positive for the virus in Sri Lanka.
With this new development, the total number of confirmed coronavirus cases reported in the country now stands at 205,333.
Since the pandemic’s outbreak last year, there have been 167,304 confirmed recoveries and 1,696 confirmed deaths in Sri Lanka. Official data show that up to 36,333 active cases are currently being treated at designated hospitals and treatment centers.
The Ministry of Health reports that another 1,921 persons have tested positive for coronavirus today (June 06).
Reports on Covid-19 victims
The Director General of Health Services has confirmed 46 more coronavirus-related deaths, bringing the total number of deaths in Sri Lanka due to the virus to 1,742.
There were no Covid-19 deaths reported yesterday (06), but the Director General of Health Services confirmed 46 Covid-19 deaths from May 17 to June 05. There are 23 female patients in this group.
