The police have launched a special pilot project to monitor traffic congestion in Colombo using drones.
DIG Ajith Rohana, a police spokesman, said the project was launched on the President’s advice, involving the Police, Special Task Force, and Sri Lanka Air Force.
The pilot project’s goal is to use cutting-edge technology to track traffic congestion, recommend alternate routes, and prosecute drivers who break traffic laws.
He said the project was launched today on Colombo’s High-Level Road.
DIG Ajith Rohana mentioned that the project would be implemented in other areas in the near future, including Galle Road, Negombo Road, and Parliament Road.
