According to the Chairman of the Civil Aviation Authority, Sri Lanka has halted all arrivals from India with immediate effect (CAA).
The decision was made based on the Ministry of Health’s directives.
India is currently experiencing a second wave of COVID-19, which has overburdened the country’s healthcare system with an increase in positive cases and deaths.
Since April 21st, India has recorded over 300,000 new infections per day.
After more than 412,000 new cases and 3,980 new deaths in the last 24 hours, India’s coronavirus caseload has surpassed 20 million, and the death toll has surpassed 220,000.
