According to the Central Bank’s regular exchange rates, the Sri Lankan Rupee has strengthened against the US Dollar, with the buying rate of the dollar falling to Rs. 187.93 on Monday (19).
In the meantime, the selling rate of the US dollar has fallen below the 200-mark for the first time since March 15, 2021, reaching Rs. 191.97.
After January 8, 2021, this is also the lowest selling rate of the US dollar ever reported.
On April 15, the selling rate of the US dollar climbed to 204.62, the highest in the country’s history, before falling to 201.28 the next day.
The Sri Lankan Rupee has depreciated by 6.8% against the US Dollar this year, according to the Central Bank of Sri Lanka as of April 16.
