Minister of Lands SM Chandrasena has announced the launch of a new mobile service for land surveying that will use cutting-edge technology.
Minister Chandrasena said the new mobile service would seek to expedite and streamline land surveying, in response to a suggestion made by members of Parliament’s Consultative Committee on Lands.
Members of the Consultative Committee proposed that land surveying was not being done properly, and that a better program was required.
Officials from the Land Ministry have announced that the mobile service will be launched as a pilot project in the Thirappane district, using cutting-edge technology.
MPs have also suggested that deeds be issued for religious places such as temples without deeds.
Issuing a statement, Parliament’s Communication Department said there are about 325 temples in the country without deeds adding that deeds will be issued expeditiously for THE temples under the post of Chief Incumbent.
