The Cabinet of Ministers has endorsed a plan not to charge international flight operators for airport landing and parking fees.
From 26 December 2020 to 19 January 2021, Sri Lanka will reopen its airports as a pilot project in the context of plans to open airports on the island to international tourists.
International airlines will therefore operate according to detailed schedules prepared by the Ministry of Tourism and the Civil Aviation Authority of Sri Lanka.
As the international aviation sector is currently facing a crisis, the Minister of Tourism has proposed a proposal to waive the landing and parking fees for international flight operators during this time.
This decision was taken as a step to allow foreign airlines to fly to Sri Lanka.
