Coronavirus: As of this morning (30), a total of 496 more persons were confirmed positive to COVID-19 in the past 24 hours. Among them, are 167 persons from Colombo region, 56 persons from Gampaha area and 53 from Puttalam region, states the National Operations Centre for Prevention of COVID-19 Outbreak (NOCPCO).
By 6.00 this morning (30), the total number of COVID-19 positive cases reported from Minuwangoda garment factory employees and Peliyagoda Fish Market cluster stands at 19,942. Meanwhile, 13,594 fully-recovered COVID-19 patients from both Minuwangoda (3,059) and fish market (16,883) clusters have been discharged from hospitals.
Up to yesterday (29), a total of 23,483 persons have been confirmed COVID-19 positive from all over the country, including the dead. 17,001 fully-recovered COVID-19 patients have been so far discharged from hospitals and the rest 6,366 are still under treatment in hospitals and care centres.
In the past 24 hours by this morning (30), 346 persons recovered patients have left hospitals and care centres.
To-date, 116 COVID-19 positive deaths have been reported. Yesterday’s 7 deaths were from Akuressa, Gothatuwa, Maradana, Colombo 02, Chilaw, Moratuwa and Colombo 13.
By this morning (30), the flight 6E 9031 from India with 01 passenger, the flight QR 668 from Qatar with 21 passengers, the flight KE 9034 from Korea with 275 passengers and the flight UL 455 from Japan with 53 passengers have arrived in Colombo. Likewise, the flight UL 186 with three passengers from Pakistan is expected to arrive here. They all were/were to be referred to Quarantine Centres (QCs), managed by tri-services upon their arrival after formalities at the airport.
As of this morning (30), 5,537 persons in 54 tri service-managed QCs are still in quarantine. Within yesterday (29), 13, 065 PCR tests were carried out.
