Non-programmable calculators can be used in the G.C.E. Advanced Level Examination for the subject of accounting from this year onwards, said Sanath Pujitha, Commissioner General of Examinations.
The second Accounting Paper is expected to be held tomorrow morning.
In the midst of the epidemic of Covid-19 infections, the Advanced Stage started on 12 October and is expected to arrive on and on 6 November.
The Examinations Department may make some inquiries about allowing candidates to use non-programmable calculators, the exam chief further said.
Speaking further, he said that in Colombo, Gampaha and Kalutara districts where quarantine curfew is currently successful, 638 examination centers are operational.
He added that the Sri Lanka Transport Board (SLTB) and Sri Lanka Railways have made arrangements to securely transport applicants to their respective review centers.
In addition, he encouraged parents to be mindful of sending their children to test centers well in advance of the start of the test.
He also said that from 11 to 30 October, paper marking of 2020 Grade 5 Scholarship examination papers took place at 391 centers throughout the island, except in Kuliyapitiya and Gampaha.
