Local News: Today the Elections Commission informed the Supreme Court that, given the current situation in the country, it is not possible to hold the General Elections on June 20.
Counsel Saliya Peiris, appearing on behalf of the Election Commission, told the Five Judge Bench that it is not possible to hold the General Elections on June 20, with the prevailing situation.
He said the election could take place within 60-75 days, if the health authorities give the green light.
