Sports News: The largest international cricket stadium in Sri Lanka with a seating capacity of 40,000 and day / night facilities will be built in Homagama, announced today by Minister Bandula Gunawardena.
Minister Bandula Gunawardena today, along with Sri Lanka Cricket President Shammi Silva, visited the proposed land allocated for building the ground.
Shammi Silva said Homagama International cricket stadium would be the 2nd International Cricket ground with day / night light facilities in Colombo district.
“We think it’s going to cost us about 30 to 40 million dollars,” said Shammi Silva.
Minister Bandula Gunaward ena said the land would be completely constructed in 3 years time. He said that Homagama has allocated 26 acres of land for the project at diyagama.
