Coronavirus: Sri Lanka was ranked 9th in the Global Response to Infectious Diseases (GRID) ranking, along with its President, Gotabaya Rajapaksa.
The GRID index is structured to rate how efficiently and effectively the country’s leadership and health system preparedness has been in addressing the COVID-19 pandemic.
The findings are published in a paper by the Institute of Certified Management Accountants (ICMA) entitled GRIDTM Index: Monitoring the Global Leadership Response in the COVID-19 Crisis.
New Zealand was ranked 1st in the GRID) index with its leader, Jacinta Arden. The USA, led by President Donald Trump in their COVID-19 answers, scores in the rankings abysmal.
Singapore, Iceland, Finland, Norway, Canada, South Korea, Hong Kong, the UAE, Japan and Taiwan were other countries that performed well in the GRID index.
