Travel News Update: Since 2012, the Department of Emigration and Immigration has been adopting the Electronic Travel Authorization System (ETA) for pre–check-up and approval issuance to foreign tourists visiting Sri Lanka.
Although it is evident that a considerable number of Chinese tourists are drawn to Sri Lanka, those Chinese tourists are not encouraged due to delays in obtaining a visa to visit Sri Lanka as a result of the language barrier arising from the Electronic Travel Authorization System (ETA) system being introduced by Sri Lanka only in English at present.
As a remedy to these circumstances, it has been observed that when traveling to Sri Lanka, these tourists will receive assistance from private agencies. Accordingly, the proposal submitted by the Minister of Mahaveli, Agriculture, Irrigation, Rural Development, the Minister of Internal Trade, Food Security and Consumer Welfare and the Minister of State for National Defense to acquire Travelson International Travel Services (Shanghai) Limited prossessing experience in a number of countries is approved by the Cabinet of Travelson International Travel Services.
