Local News Update: A gazette notification was issued specifying the four-state ministers ‘ respective subject areas. Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa and Dullas Alahapperuma, Minister of Education, Sports and Youth Affairs, issued the Gazette Notification.
Following the appointment of ministers from the Cabinet, President Gotabaya Rajapaksa stated that cabinet ministers should take steps to delegate government ministries ‘ responsibilities through Gazette Notifications.
In this way, the subject areas of state ministers John Seneviratne, Shehan Semasinghe, Duminda Dissanayake and Ranjith Siyambalapitiya were reviewed.
The Department of National Policy, the Department of Public Enterprises, the Department of Trade and Investment, the Department of Census and Statistics, the Department of Valuation, the Department of Company Registration, the Department of Commerce and the Council for Sustainable Development were named under the authority of Minister of State John Seneviratne.
Under State Minister Shehan Semasinghe, the Credit Information Bureau, the Department of Development Finance, the Export Protection Board, the Rural Development Bank, and the Housing Development Finance Council are in charge.
The National Youth Services Council, the National Youth Service Quality Authority, the National Youth Services Cooperative Leadership Development Institute, and the Smart Sri Lanka Institute, led by Minister Dullas Alahapperuma, were officially assigned to State Minister Duminda Dissanayake.
In addition, the Department of State Publications, the Sri Lankan Publication Development Bureau, the National Library and Documentation Services Board, the Piriven Education Board, and the State Printing Corporation were appointed by State Minister Ranjith Siyambalapitiya.
