Local News Update: Yesterday, Minister of Information and Communication Technology and Higher Education Dr. Bandula Gunewardene said that through dialogue and the mutual resolution he would aim to resolve issues in the higher education field.
The minister spoke to a group of students from the Inter-University Student Federation who came to the ministry to send a petition on irregularities related to practical and other admissions-related exams, especially the University of Visual and Performing Arts and others.
The minister told the students that he would interfere as a father to solve their problems, said a statement issued by the ministry’s media unit.
The minister told the students that the current government will not use force to quench any student rebellion, but will solve issues with consensus and dialogue. The minister said the university facilities will be immediately upgraded.
