Local News Update: Chief Sanghanayake of the United States Most Ven Walpola Piyananda Thera has been appointed Presidential Advisor on International Religious Affairs.
Yesterday, the Thera received President Gotabaya Rajapaksa’s appointment at the Presidential Secretariat. The Thera is the founder and abbot of the Dharma Vijaya Buddhist Vihara, one of the first US Buddhist temples in Los Angeles, California.
