The Chairman of the National Election Commission, Mahinda Deshapriya, announced this morning that a total of 513 electoral violations have been received in respect of the upcoming presidential election. President Maithripala Sirisena presented letters of appointment to the Presidential Commission members appointed by him on September 21 to further investigate the assaults of Easter Sunday at the Presidential Secretariat today.
President Maithripala Sirisena has advised the officials concerned to take swift action to provide relief to those affected by the severe weather. The President also advised the military to receive help in relief activities and in flood-prone areas as well as in evacuations.
