Local News: Heeding a police order, 8437 Sri Lankans who returned from overseas to the country had registered with police. Of these, 4498 are from the western province, 1187 are from the central province and 742 are from the province of Wayamba, DIG Ajith Rohana said.
He said this during last day’s media briefing at the National Covid-19 Prevention Activity Centre.
The DIG has said the process of registration is ongoing.
The DIG also warned those who store gloves and face masks and market them at higher rates than inspections would be carried out in coordination with the Consumer Affairs Authority and legal action against them would be taken.
He has also urged the public not to harass foreigners who have arrived in our country.
