Afghanistan won by 7 wickets against Sri Lanka in ACC Emerging Teams Asia Cup 2019

Sports News from Sri Lanka: Yesterday in the first round of the ACC Emerging Teams Asia Cup 2019 in Bangladesh, defending champions Sri Lanka Emerging suffered their third successive loss and failed to qualify for a semi-final place.

Sri Lanka Emerging lost to Afghanistan by 7 wickets in their final group game. Oman and Pakistan Emerging had defeated them earlier.

Sri Lanka Emerging skipper Charith Asalanka scored a total of 238 in his side, but was upstaged by Shahidullah Kamal of Afghanistan Emerging whose unbeaten 102 saw his team at home in the 45th overall.

Bangladesh Emerging beat Nepal by 8 wickets and India Emerging beat Hong Kong by 120 runs in the other first round matches played yesterday by 147 runs.

Pakistan Emerging and Afghanistan Emerging qualified as Group ‘ A’ champion and runner for the semi-finals, while Bangladesh Emerging and India Emerging qualified as Group’ B ‘ champion and runner-up for the semi-finals.

Pakistan Emerging (A1) will face India Emerging (B2) on 20 November in the first semi-finaland Bangladesh Emerging (B1) will meet Afghanistan Emerging (A2) on 21 November in the second semi-final. On November 23, the final will be held.
