Financial News from Sri Lanka: The ‘Yaal Virindu’ food festival commence last week and will hold till September 15, 2019, at Ramada Hotel Colombo.
The event is organized with the key objective to celebrate the distinct flavors of Northern Sri Lanka that separate it from the traditional cuisine found in the rest of the island. “The food festival will be a treat to Northern food lovers and for people who look at a different taste,” an official from Ramada said.
“Sri Lanka is a country that is as famous for its delicious variety of native cuisine and its nature and adventure. Jaffna cuisine is an integral and vital component of Sri Lanka’s culinary identity.”
As one of the first hotels in Colombo to introduce the Jaffna Food Festival back in 2002, Ramada Colombo has built up a reputation as one of the benchmarks for Jaffna cuisine, in the city.
“Iconic favorites such as the Odiyal Kool Soup (prepared in a traditional manner by the pool) and Jaffna Crab Curry, are just some of the delightful array of dishes guaranteed to captivate your taste buds.”
The delicious range of food prepared by chefs brought down from Jaffna is complimented by traditional Tamil Musicians and captivating décor that includes the traditional arch entrance.
