President Maithripala Sirisena commenced state visit to Cambodia

President Maithripala Sirisena started his four-day state visit to the Southeast Asian country today on an invitation extended by the Government of Cambodia (7) with the objective of further enhancing bilateral relations between Sri Lanka and Cambodia.

Samdech Chaufea Veang Kong Sam Ol, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Royal Palace, and Khieu Kanharith, Minister of Information and Minister of Attendance, warmly welcomed President Sirisena upon arrival at Phnom Penh International Airport.

President Sirisena will have a royal audience with the King of Cambodia, Norodom Sihamoni, during his visit.

He will also attend a bilateral conference with Prime Minister Hun Sen. Special attention will be given to expanding mutual collaboration in financial, trade, and tourism industries by the two nations that are deeply linked through Buddhism. Also witnessing the signing of several bilateral cooperation contracts will be the President of Sri Lanka and the Cambodian Prime Minister.

At the inauguration of the Business Forum arranged by the Cambodian Chamber of Commerce, President Sirisena will participate in the evening.
