On Tuesday, Sri Lankan authorities presented a formal request for debt treatment during the first meeting of the official bilateral creditors committee, as stated by the Paris Club. The committee, co-chaired by India, Japan, and France, is comprised of 17 members and includes Paris Club creditors along with other official bilateral creditors.
The meeting was observed by Paris Club members who have no claims on Sri Lanka, as well as China, Saudi Arabia, and Iran, according to the statement.
