Sri Lanka has experienced a considerable surge in the number of tourist arrivals in January 2023, compared to January 2022.
According to the Sri Lanka Tourism Development Authority (SLTDA), a total of 102,545 visitors arrived on the island during the first month of the year, representing an increase of over 20,000 arrivals.
Last year, only 82,327 people visited the country in the same period.
Minister Harin Fernando commented on the news, expressing his approval of the encouraging growth in the number of inbound travellers.
