Mrs. Kushani Rohanadeera, Chief of Staff and Deputy General Secretary of the Parliament has announced that a meeting of the Constitutional Council will take place next Wednesday (Jan. 25) at 9.30 am.
The President has appointed three non-members of Parliament to the Constitutional Council, based on the nominations submitted by the Speaker, with the agreement of the Speaker, the Prime Minister and the Leader of the Opposition in Parliament.
The appointees are:
- Dr. Pratap Ramanujam – Public Sector
- Dr. (Mrs) Dilkushi Anula Wijesundere – Member of the Public Service Commission and as the Secretary to several Ministries
- Dr. (Mrs) Weligama Vidana Arachchige Dinesha Samararatne – Law academic and Senior Lecturer of the University of Colombo
