An oximeter’s maximum retail price has been fixed at Rs 3,000, according to a gazette notification.
As a result of the increased demand for oximeters, their price has just surpassed Rs 5,000. Accordingly, the healthcare industry is working to establish a maximum retail price for oximeters.
Under Section 142 of the National Drug Regulatory Authority Act No. 5 of 2015, Minister of Health Keheliya Rambukwella has issued a gazette notification setting a maximum retail price of Rs 3,000 per oximeter.
In addition, the applicable gazette notification contains ten items, including pricing and quoting.
