According to the State Minister of Production, Supply, and Regulation of Pharmaceuticals, Sri Lanka had the greatest number of vaccinations rolled out in a single day on Monday (July 26).
Prof. Channa Jayasumana stated that a total of 437,878 coronavirus vaccines were given in one day.
According to the Epidemiology Unit’s COVID-19 immunization status report, 356,628 persons have gotten the first shot of the Sinopharm vaccine, which was developed in China.
Meanwhile, 55,722 people received the second dosage of Sinopharm shot after completing the immunization course.
In addition, 25,420 people received the first dosage of the Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine, which was produced in the United States, and 108 people received the first dose of the US-designed Moderna vaccine.
According to official figures, the nationwide immunization push has vaccinated more than 8,240,000 people in the country against the new coronavirus.
