Sri Lanka’s COVID-19 Update: On Saturday, 2,248 new COVID-19 cases were reported, according to the Health Ministry’s Epidemiology Unit.
At 8:45 p.m. Saturday, the Epidemiology Unit reported a total of 237,661 COVID-19 cases, 35,788 infected people were being treated in hospitals, and 199,393 patients had totally recovered and been discharged from hospitals.
According to a report from the Epidemiology Unit, a total of 2,430,811 persons have received the first dose of COVID-19 vaccination, with 787,007 receiving the second dosage.
Update on Covid-19 deaths
Sri Lanka reported that 54 deaths due to COVID-19 occurred on Friday, June 18, 2021.
The Director-General of Health Services today (19) confirmed that 54 deaths occurred on Friday 18 June without stating the total number of deaths due to the pandemic.
Among the Friday’s dead are 23 females and 31 males. The majority of the deaths numbering 43 are in the over 60 years of age group.
According to the data reported by the Government Information Department, the total deaths due to Covid-19 Since the pandemic began last March has now risen to 2,534 including the deaths confirmed Saturday.
