Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa said today that heads of institutions must ensure that the people are served efficiently and effectively.
The Prime Minister, speaking at a discussion on the current condition of the Employees’ Trust Fund (ETF) at Temple Trees, said it is important that heads of institutions work together with trade union representatives in this regard.
The Prime Minister said officials must take steps to intervene and expeditiously provide guidance depending on the needs of the clients visiting the service providers and to provide the relevant service efficiently.
The Prime Minister said that the officials should receive the guidance of the heads of institutions for this purpose and reminded them that public service is a responsibility as well as a duty.
The Prime Minister said that the heads of institutions and the trade union representatives should work together to resolve the problems in their institutions.
