According to Army Commander General Shavendra Silva, a decision has been made to extend the islandwide travel restrictions until June 21. (Monday).
The travel restrictions, which are currently in effect throughout the island, were initially extended until June 7 and then again until 4 a.m. on June 14.
However, it has now been decided that the travel restriction will not be lifted on June 14, but will instead remain in effect until 4 a.m. on June 21.
Several services, including essential services, will be permitted during the travel restriction period, according to the Army Commander.
As a result, apparel factories, major construction sites, the weekly village fair (Sathi Pola), agricultural, and organic fertilizer production activities will be permitted to operate under health regulations.
He stated that the dates for the establishment of banks and dedicated economic centers would be announced later.
