The University Grants Commission (UGC) has extended the deadline for submitting applications for admission to state universities for the 2020-2021 academic year.
As a result, applications can be submitted until June 18th, according to UGC Chairman Prof. Sampath Amaratunge.
Acceptance of applications for admission to universities for the academic year 2020/2021 began on May 21, 2021, with the deadline for submission of applications set for June 11, 2021.
Students who took the GCE Advanced Level Examination last year and were accepted into university have been instructed to submit their applications to the UGC online.
Due to the current travel restrictions imposed to halt the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic, applications for university admissions can be submitted without the Principal’s Certificate and GCE Ordinary Level Certificates, according to a previous announcement from the UGC.
When the travel restrictions are lifted and schools reopen, students must certify and submit the necessary certificates to the UGC.
