According to the Health Ministry’s Epidemiology Unit, 2,859 new COVID-19 cases were reported on Sunday.
Positive cases identified on Sunday include 2,849 people from the New Year COVID-19 cluster and 10 foreign arrivals who are currently quarantined.
According to a report from the Epidemiology Unit at 9:30 p.m. Sunday, a total of 183,452 COVID-19 cases have been reported, with 32,186 infected patients being treated in hospitals and 149,825 patients have fully recovered and been discharged.
Sri Lanka reported 36 COVID-19 deaths on Sunday, bringing the total number of deaths from the pandemic to 1,441.
According to the Epidemiology Unit report, so far a total of 1,541,734 people have received the first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine and 346,240 have received the second dose.
Covid-19 Death Reports on Sunday
Sri Lanka confirmed 36 deaths as a result of COVID-19.
The Director-General of Health Services is the highest-ranking official in the healthcare system Sunday confirmed 36 deaths, seven of which occurred on Sunday and 29 of which occurred between May 2nd and May 29th as a result of Covid-19 virus infection.
By now, there have been 1,441 deaths in Sri Lanka as a result of Covid-19 infection.
