This afternoon, the results of the 2020 GCE A/L Examination, which was held in October 2020 alongside a second wave of COVID-19, were announced (May 04).
Candidates can view their results by entering their examination number or National Identity Card number on the Department of Examinations‘ official website at www.doenets.lk or www.results.exams.gov.lk, according to Commissioner General of Examinations Sanath Pujitha.
- According to the Department of Examinations 301,771 candidates sat for the 2020 GCE Advanced Level Examination under old and new syllabuses and 194,297 have qualified to enter universities.
- Under the new syllabus, 277,625 candidates sat for the exam and 178,337 are eligible to apply for university admissions. Under the old syllabus, 24,146 candidates sat for the GCE Advanced Level examination this year and 15,960 of them qualified to apply for university admission.
- Accordingly, out of the total number of candidates who sat for the GCE Advanced Level Examination this year 64.3 percent have received qualifying marks for university admission.
Issuing of results of 86 candidates has been suspended.
Commissioner General of Examinations Sanath Pujitha said that principals, provincial directors of education and zonal directors of education have been given the facility to download or to view the results by using the user name given to them earlier. The result sheets will be sent to schools in a future date.
The commissioner said issuing certificates of the examination will be informed in due course. He said facilities will be provided to apply online for re-correction of results.
Any queries regarding the results should be directed to the 1911 hotline or the School Examination Organizations and Results Branch of the Department of Examinations, the Commissioner General of Examinations further said.
