~ Reaches over 300,000 people across 108 police areas and 885 schools ~
Continuing to scale up its efforts to support the nation in combating the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic, Lifebuoy recently partnered with the Sri Lanka Police to conduct extensive awareness campaigns across several parts of the Western Province.
Lifebuoy representatives joined Police personnel in engaging with the public and reiterating the importance of social distancing, wearing face masks, washing hands and using hand sanitizers frequently, as well as other health and hygiene guidelines. COVID-19 related educational leaflets from Lifebuoy were distributed to over 300,000 people across 108 police areas in the province. With schools beginning to reopen, the awareness drive also covered 885 schools in the region.
Senior Deputy Inspector General of Police, Deshabandu Thennakoon said, “We thank Unilever Sri Lanka for extending their support to our COVID-19 awareness drives through their brand Lifebuoy. As more people begin to venture out and schools start reopening, we need to constantly remind ourselves that the threat of the pandemic remains. We continue to conduct public outreach programs such as this to reiterate the importance of adhering to the advice of healthcare experts and following health and hygiene guidelines. Partnering with organizations like Unilever that share our commitment to protecting lives helps us deliver this message to even more Sri Lankans.”
