The ‘Denuwara Menike’ Intercity Train, which runs on the upcountry line between Colombo Fort and Badulla, has temporarily suspended operations, Sri Lanka Railways has reported.
The train ‘Denuwara Menike’ requires that its passengers reserve their seats in advance. However, the authorities have decided to terminate their services for the time being because of the low number of reservations.
However, Sri Lanka Railways further stated that those who have already reserved seats for the ‘Denuwara Menike’ will be accommodated on the ‘Podi Menike’ train.
