Dr. Subramaniam Jaishankar, India’s External Affairs Minister, called on Opposition Leader Sajith Premadasa on Tuesday (January 06).
Following an invitation extended by his Sri Lankan counterpart, Foreign Minister Dinesh Gunawardena, Dr Jaishankar arrived in Sri Lanka on Monday for a three-day official visit.
The two leaders addressed bilateral relations and shared views on the two countries’ long-standing historical ties.
The Leader of the Opposition thanked the Indian government for their recent help in building houses and recalled the ‘Modi’ village. He also expressed gratitude to India for its ‘Suva Seriya’ support.
Meanwhile, Indian External Affairs Minister extended a special invitation to Opposition Leader Sajith Premadasa to pay an official visit to India.
