As Sri Lanka looks optimistically at the possibilities of reshaping the tourism industry under the concept of travel bubbles, international airports are planning to promote international flight operations.
SkyUp Airlines, the Ukrainian budget carrier, will operate a charter flight to Mattala Rajapaksa International Airport (MRIA), taking the first group of tourists to the airport today.
Udayanga Weeratunga, former Sri Lankan Ambassador to Russia, said 214 tourists will arrive from Mattala International Airport and stay in a travel bubble operated in Benthota, Koggala and Beruwela.
