Coronavirus: As of this morning (1), a total of 503 including 496 locally identified, 3 expatriates from UAE, 1 Expatriate from Qatar, one seafarer and one person from Uganda, and one expatriate who is a seafarer was confirmed positive to COVID-19 in the past 24 hours. Among them, are 147 persons from Colombo region, 130 persons from Gampaha area, and 41 from Kandy region, states the National Operations Centre for Prevention of COVID-19 Outbreak (NOCPCO).

By 6.00 this morning (1), the total number of COVID-19 positive cases reported from Minuwangoda garment factory employees and Peliyagoda Fish Market cluster stands at 20,438. Meanwhile, 14,152 fully-recovered COVID-19 patients from both Minuwangoda (3,059) and fish market (17,379) clusters have been discharged from hospitals.

Up to yesterday (30), a total of 23,986 persons have been confirmed COVID-19 positive from all over the country, including the dead. 17,559 fully-recovered COVID-19 patients have been so far discharged from hospitals and the rest 6,309 are still under treatment in hospitals and care centres.

In the past 24 hours by this morning (1), 558 persons recovered patients have left hospitals and care centres.

To-date, 118 COVID-19 positive deaths have been reported. Yesterday’s 2 deaths were from Galaha and Atalugama.

By this morning (1), the flight EY 264 from Abu Dhabi with 49 passengers, the flight QR 668 from Qatar with 36 passengers, the flight UL 455 from Germany with 5 passengers and the flight UL 218 from Doha with 59 passengers have arrived in Colombo. They all were referred to Quarantine Centres (QCs), managed by tri-services upon their arrival after formalities at the airport.

As of this morning (1), 6,204 persons in 58 tri service-managed QCs are still in quarantine. Within yesterday (30), 12, 031 PCR tests were carried out.
