Due to the prevailing adverse weather conditions, the Disaster Management Center (DMC) has advised fishermen to refrain from fishing in the North and Eastern seas until further notice.
Pradeep Kodippili, Deputy Director and Media Spokesman of the Disaster Management Center, said that fishing vessels already engaged in fishing in the Northern and Eastern Seas should be diverted to safer areas as soon as possible.
Meanwhile, the Meteorology Department forecast issued this morning said the Low Pressure area in the South-East of Bay of Bengal is expected to intensify further into a depression during the next 24-48 hours.
