The frequency of coronavirus infections is Low in other districts outside the Western Province, said Dr. Sudath Samaraweera, Chief Epidemiologist of the Epidemiology Unit.
(13) The Chief Epidemiologist said that a significant number of cases have been recorded from the Western Province, particularly from the Colombo Municipal Council area, at a media conference today.
Of the 396 cases registered yesterday (12), 296 were from the Western Province, including 232 from the Municipal Council area of Colombo, he said.
He added that more restrictions on some Western Province areas and random PCR testing would reduce the number of cases registered in the area.
