The validity of the driver’s license expiring from 1 July 2020 to 31 December 2020 shall be extended by 03 months from the expiry date of the driver’s license.
Dilum Amunugama, Minister of State for Vehicle Regulation speaking to reporters on Thursday (22), said that the extension does imply that the renewal process has been suspended.
He said that the process of renewing the driver’s license had been halted, taking into account the growing concerns about COVID-19.
The ‘Sisu Seriya’ bus service operates across all areas to transport students to the examination centers, said the Minister of State, adding that parents are allowed to accompany their children on condition that they comply strictly with the health guidelines.
All SLTB busses are disinfected before and after each journey, the Minister of State said.
He said that the ‘Sisu Seriya’ busses worked inside areas where the quarantine curfew was in place and the service would be discontinued when the examinations were completed.
