Financial News: The activities of the Colombo Stock Exchange remained buoyant with the All Share Price Index (ASPI) surpassing the 6,000 mark yesterday for the first time since January 7,2020. The ASPI closed yesterday at 6028.20, up 169. 16 points or 2.89% and the S&P Index closed at 2495.72, up13.64 or 0.55% on a volume of 217 Million shares and on a turnover of Rs. 1.8 Million. There was a lot of retail interest in the market these days with the interest rates being very low and all retail investors have turned to the Stock Market, sources told the Daily News.
These market sentiments are bound to remain with the interest rates remaining low. Some of the other reasons are that some of these corporates were expected to remain low, have come up with much better performances against all odds and that was one of the reasons why the stock market performances have been high.
Also adding to the performances of the Stock Market was that the Price Earnings ratios of these corporates have also been very attractive from the investors’ point of view as well. More Financial News
