Local News: Prime Minister, Mahinda Rajapaksa met Italian Ambassador to Colombo, Rita Giuliana Mannella last evening at Temple Trees (14).
Discussions have been conducted between the two officials on rural development and agricultural ventures, where the Italian Government has already provided their assistance and other areas such as food production, aquaculture and ecotourism.
Speaking on tourism, Ambassador Mannella claimed that several Italian companies might be interested in investing in Sri Lanka in tourism related activities.
The Prime Minister, in reaction, highlighted many areas around the country that could be further established to encourage tourism. More News
